This Lyre is inspired by the Saxon Lyre found in the Sutton Hoo grave. It is constructed of red oak stained an ebony color with birch plywood soundboard, red oak bridge, maple pegs and maple anchor know. There have been numerous speculations that this Lyre did not have a tailpiece as none was found in the grave with the other Lyre fragments. Therefore, I have constructed this Lyre without a tailpiece. The 7 flourocarbon strings have a bright sound that is very pleasing. The limbs feature cast brass eagles or ravens and brass nails further enhance the soundboard. Comes with a walnut tuning key and beginner lyre pamphlet.
