This Lyre is inspired by the Oberflacht lyre find. It is constructed from a hard maple body with a spalted black limba soundboard, walnut pegs, and maple anchor knob. A carved walnut rosette of a valkyrie decorates the soundboard and brass press lochs of female figures (thought to be either goddesses or valkyries) adorn the limbs. The bridge is carved from walnut with animal heads inspired by the cast bronze bridges of germanic lyres. Brass nails complete the soundboard. Comes with a walnut tuning key.
