7 string lyre based on the Hillestad church portal carving depicting Gunnar in the snakepit from the Volsung Saga. The lyre body is constructed from ambrosia maple and has a birch plywood soundboard. A walnut rosette of Odin spear dancing decorates the soundboard. The bridge is carved walnut with animal heads inspired by cast bronze germanic lyre bridges. Bronze pressblechs decorate the limbs and are copies of original goldgubber pressblechs thought to be used as sacrifices in religious ceremonies. The lyre is strung with nylgut strings to give the closest sound to period gut strings and further decorated with brass nails. Comes with a walnut tuning key and beginner lyre pamphlet.
